Dr. Ed Pavlic's essay on "Baldwin's Lonely Country" will appear in the Boston Review's special issue entitled Fifty Years Since MLK, available here .

Elizabeth Swails has been awarded the 2018 Bezanson Fellowship for research conducted in the Melville Society Archive at the New Bedford Whaling Museum. Elizabeth is a fourth-year Ph.D. candidate working with Dr. Cody Marrs.

Dr. Jed Rasula's History of a Shiver: The Sublime Impudence of Modernism (Oxford University Press, 2016) has received the MLA's Matei Calinescu Prize, which is given to a distinguished work of scholarship in twentieth- or twentieth-century literature and thought.
