At the annual 4C (Conference on College Composition and Communication) meeting, Robby Nadler, Kristen Miller (Head of the Division of Biology), and Christy Desmet received the Council on Basic Writing's Award for Innovation for UGA's Science Writing Project.

Christy Desmet is one of ten faculty members recognized as a 2018 Outstanding Professor by the Student Government Association (SGA). Honorees are chosen from student nominations, and Christy was nominated by graduate student Robby Nadler.

Rebecca Ross, who earned her English degree at UGA in 2012, has published a young adult fantasy novel entitled The Queen's Rising. Avid Bookshop on Prince Avenue will be hosting a book launch party on Friday, February 9th, from 6:00-7:00pm. 

Dr. Ed Pavlic's essay on "Baldwin's Lonely Country" will appear in the Boston Review's special issue entitled Fifty Years Since MLK, available here .
