A 56-minute documentary co-written and co-produced by the University of Georgia Eidson Distinguished Professor in American Literature, LeAnne Howe, (Choctaw Nation) premiered nationally Nov. 1 on PBS.

Dr. Barbara McCaskill discusses the flight of William and Ellen Craft from bondage in Georgia in an interview with their great great grandaughter Peggy Trotter Dammond Preacely.

Rodrigo Martini Paula has published an essay and co-edited a volume on Czech-Brazilian media thinker, Vilém Flusser. The essay in Comparative Literature Studies traces Flusser’s view of nationalism along with Portuguese poet Jorge de Sena.

Eidson Chair in American Literature has helped launch the website for In-Na-Po, Indigenous Nations Poets.  She is also a board member of the organization.

Dr. Andrew Zawacki was named a Distinguished Research Professor in 2021.  He has gained distinction as a poet, translator, editor and critic.
