UGA Main Library in fall

The Department of English at the University of Georgia offers two graduate-level degrees:  A Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D. with a critical or a creative dissertation) and a Master of Arts (M.A.).  Our faculty and course offerings represent a wide range of critical and creative expertise, including studies in literary, language, genre, and craft studies.  Our various departmental strengths feature in particular, the following Thematic Arcs (Literatures of the Americas, British and Irish Studies, Transatlantic Currents, Material Textualities, Forms and Genres, and Theories of Cultural Representation), as well as a host of Critical and Creative Specialties.
