Graduate Assistant

Spencer Doss is a first-year MA student in UGA's English Department. She received her BA in English from Willamette University in the spring of 2020, graduating cum laude with department honors. Her senior thesis, “(In)Authentic Conversation: Jane Austen and Fulfillment in the Sphere of the tête-a-tête,” was seminal in shaping her academic focus on women's literature and feminist criticism. Spencer's research interests include British literature of the long nineteenth century, with a particular emphasis on female authorship and representation of women in the novel. She is also a graduate assistant at UGA's College of Veterinary Medicine, where she tutors international graduate students in American English grammar, language, and composition.
