When the Light of the World Was Subdued, Our Songs Came Through: A Norton Anthology of Native Nations Poetry has been chosen as one of Oprah's "The Books That Help Me Through." When the Light of the World Was Subdued, Our Songs Came Through was co-edited by University of Georgia Eidson Chair in American Literature LeAnne Howe, U.S. Poet Laureate Joy Harjo, and poet Jennifer Elise Foerster, and features the work of more than 160 poets, representing nearly 100 indigenous nations.
